How a Joint Engagement Works

A structured pathway for complex transformation mandates requiring board-level strategy, institutional capability and sustained on-the-ground delivery.

When the Collaborative Model Applies

Joint engagements are designed for organisations undertaking material transformation where multiple capabilities must be mobilised simultaneously. Typical mandates may involve:

Primary sectors include mining, energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics, healthcare and other asset-heavy industries.

From Opportunity to Handover

01
Step 1
Opportunity and Initial Alignment

An initial executive discussion is held to understand the mandate, strategic context, value at stake, operating environment and capabilities required. The parties determine whether a collaborative model is appropriate and whether there is sufficient alignment to proceed.

02
Step 2
Joint Scoping and Diagnostic Design

The parties agree the questions that must be answered and the diagnostic work required. Silverwing will typically lead the operational, organisational and implementation assessment. The alliance partner may lead or support strategic, financial, governance, regulatory or transaction-related workstreams. Responsibilities are determined by the mandate rather than assigned through a fixed model.

03
Step 3
Integrated Solution Design

The findings are combined into a single transformation recommendation. This may include:

  • Transformation thesis
  • Quantified value opportunity
  • Strategic and operational priorities
  • Implementation approach
  • Governance structure
  • Workstream responsibilities
  • Resource requirements
  • Delivery schedule
  • KPI and benefits framework
  • Capability-building requirements
  • Transition and handover criteria

The client receives one coordinated program rather than separate and potentially competing recommendations.

04
Step 4
Governance and Commercial Alignment

Before implementation begins, the parties agree:

  • Scope and outputs
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Decision rights
  • Governance and reporting
  • KPI definitions
  • Measurement methodology
  • Commercial arrangements
  • Performance-linked compensation, where applicable
  • Confidentiality and information-sharing protocols
  • Conflict-management procedures
  • Transition and handover requirements

Each participating firm retains its independent legal and professional responsibilities.

05
Step 5
Integrated Delivery

Silverwing and the alliance partner deliver through one coordinated program structure. Silverwing will often provide the majority of the embedded transformation team, including senior practitioners working directly with client leadership, operational management and frontline teams. Silverwing leadership also remains engaged at board, executive and steering committee level.

Alliance partners provide the strategic, financial, governance, technical or institutional capabilities agreed for the mandate and remain involved at the appropriate decision points throughout delivery.

Progress is managed against the integrated transformation plan and KPI framework.

06
Step 6
Capability Transfer and Handover

Capability transfer runs in parallel with implementation. Client leaders and teams progressively assume responsibility for management routines, operating systems, performance reviews and continuous improvement.

The engagement concludes when the agreed results are sustainable, the required capability has been embedded and the client can maintain performance independently.

What the Collaborative Model Delivers

01

Capability That Remains

The objective is not to create dependence on either Silverwing or its partners. The engagement is designed to leave behind the leadership, systems and internal capability required to sustain performance.

02

Strategic and Operational Continuity

The people responsible for execution are involved in shaping the strategy and program design. This reduces the risk of recommendations being disconnected from operating reality.

03

Equal Board-level Participation

Silverwing operates at owner, board and executive level alongside alliance partners, helping shape the major decisions governing the transformation.

04

Embedded Senior Delivery Capacity

Silverwing provides the practitioners and on-the-ground capacity required to translate the agreed strategy into sustained action.

05

Coordinated Governance

The client works through one integrated program structure, with clear workstream accountability and defined escalation pathways.

06

Aligned Commercial Accountability

Commercial terms are established upfront. Transformation engagements will typically combine an agreed professional fee with a performance-linked component tied to clearly defined and measurable KPIs. Each party’s compensation and accountability are aligned with the responsibilities it has accepted.

07

Disclosure Statement

Collaborative engagements are structured on a project-specific basis. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the participating firms remain independent organisations and the engagement does not constitute a formal joint venture, partnership or agency relationship. Client ownership, confidentiality, intellectual property, branding, conflicts of interest and commercial responsibilities are governed through written agreements established before the engagement begins.
